FAQ-Shop Private Quarters Online and Our January Clearance Sale!

I’ve had a blizzard of emails with questions on these two topics, so I thought I’d answer them in a post :)

1. Can I shop Private Quarters from you online?

YES! Just click HERE to be redirected to my online shopping portal. If you just want to peruse the current catalog, just click the “Catalog” button in the main menu above.

2. Don’t you always have a huge Clearance Sale in January?

Sure do! This year (2011) our clearance sale will run from January 5 to January 31 (or while supplies last).  You’ll be able to save 40-70 percent on selected items. I don’t know just yet which items are going to be included in this year’s sale, but as SOON as I do, I’ll be posting them here at The Blissful Bed and Bath! I’ll also include some personal recommendations to help you choose from all the fabulous bargains on offer-stay tuned!

This morning NPR featured a story on one of my favorite organizations, Blissful Bedrooms.  This wonderful group of volunteers perform bedroom makeovers for children and teens with disabilities, and they are changing kids’ lives. Tis the Season-My Gift Picks for Holiday 2010 :)

I just love this time of year! Reflecting on this busy, busy year, there are so many things I am grateful for.  I really appreciate your coming back here and all your questions, emails and comments!

I’ve had so many questions about my favorite gift ideas from the NEW CATALOG, I thought it would be easier just to share them in a post. So here’s what I’ll be giving this year!

Our Touch of Mink Vest comes in 4 colors-for just $59.99!

OK-so you probably wouldn’t wear this with your pajamas (even if they were Bamboo!) But I received this vest, in Black, at our convention this year and I Can’t. Stop. Wearing. It! It’s so luxe and cozy that I get compliments all day long-and I love compliments! You can find this vest on page 42 of the CATALOG. I love all our Touch of Mink items, and I love all the colors, but my favorite has got to be the Taupe (shown here). I have at least 3 ladies on my list who’ll be sporting this vest in the new year!

Our Faux Fur Throws $59.99-$79.99

And speaking of Touch of Mink…I’m also planning to give loads of our Faux Fur Throws! These are always popular this time of year. I always give one to my daughter’s teachers-the men especially love them! And they are generously sized to keep anyone cozy at 50×60 inches each. They can be found on pages 42-43 of the CATALOG, and are all $59.99, except for the “Prairie” Throw (the bottom one in the photo) which is $79.99.

 

Our Cabin Plaid and Northwoods Throws, $49.99 ea.

My other favorite throws are the Northwoods and Cabin Plaid throws. Both feature lambswool-like”sherpa” on one side and soft microfiber on the other. You can find both these throws and see all the colors they come in on page 54 of our CATALOG.

Our "Share" Bears ($29.99) and our Serenity Plush sheets ($79.99 twin set)

For the children on my list, I love to give our “Share” bears. These come with either cinnamon or lavender (which promote restful sleep) inserts. Kids love them and 15% of all sales of the Share bears goes to battered and homeless women’s shelters. You can find the bears on page 57 of the CATALOG. The other gift kids LOVE is our Serenity Plush sheets. I sometimes give just a set of pillowcases ($34.99). Now, though, we finally have the plush sheets available in CRIB size! In Baby Blue or Pink, a fitted crib sheet is $34.99. I recently got these for my son’s crib and he loves them-so my new little nephew is definitely getting one! The Serenity Plush sheets are on page 22 of  the CATALOG.

The Blingin’ Bed and Bath! More Fall trends in Bedding…

I just love when our trend forecasts are confirmed! A couple of days ago I went to the Fall Market at the Laguna Design Center-which was the best it’s been in years! The Keynote speaker was reknowned designer Thom Filicia (you may remember him as the a-dorable design divo from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) who gave a terrific talk on inspiration in design (also covered in his book, Thom Filicia Style. )

I always make an effort to attend these events, not only to get inspiration from the wonderful speakers but to see all the new collections and trends. One trend that was EVERYWHERE: Sparkle!Every showroom glistened with beautiful fabrics and objet-from crystal lamps at Baker, Knapp & Tubbs to tiebacks at Nancy Corzine to beautiful fabrics from designers like Gretchen Bellinger. But how can you bring this trend into your home? My favorite (and, I think, the easiest) way to introduce a little bling into your bedroom is with decorative pillows and my new fave bedroom accessory: the bedshawl. Just a few sparkly touches can really add a festive holiday touch to your interior…

My friend MJ loved the bedshawl so much, she tried it on as an evening wrap!

The point is-you don’t have to break the bank to try this trend. Just a few key touches of sparkle make a huge impression!

FALL 2010 BEDDING TRENDS: What’s Black and White and “Bed” All Over?

Although it’s sweltering throughout most of these United States, it is one of my favorite times of year! I always get to celebrate “Christmas in July” seeing the gorgeous, cozy bedding trends that will be coming out this fall and winter. This year, the line launch was held at the beautiful M Resort and Spa in Las Vegas. And even though the temperature outside was over 110, inside we could almost hear sleigh bells!

So what did I SEE, right? Ok, here’s are just a few of the biggest trends I spotted in Vegas:

LUXURY. As Mae West said, “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.”  Now, I’ve seen faux fur on a bed before, but this ivory and silvery-taupe combo could unleash anyone’s inner Mae West! Plush, luxurious fabrics were EVERYWHERE-not only in bedding but in leopard-lined robes, throws, even faux-mink booties, vests and headbands-talk about your stocking stuffers!

BLACK AND WHITE. This trend lends a bit of jazz-age wit and opulence to your bedroom. Plus? It’s SO versatile and easy to achieve! If this stunning B&W Brocade pattern is too much for you (that fabric is PLUSH, btw) then just punch up your plain white bedding with a few snappy pillows to bring this trend into your home for “party season.”

HOMESPUN. Now, I don’t want you to get the idea that this fall is going to be devoid of color. There’s plenty of color to warm up your Winter, rest assured! I’ll be posting more on Fall’s most popular color trends (Hint: all you purple lovers are going to be very happy!) This picture not only shows color but the other big trend-the return of the Cozy Quilt! YAY! We were sad when they went away and we’re so happy their back. Cheery, comfy quilts with lovely patterns and that are reversible to adorable ticking stripes. Just add hot cocoa!
